Welcome to Ashenden's at Penneshaw

Imagine an island, not too far from the mainland, with pristine beaches, sweeping farmland and trees as old as time. Now imagine a house, all windows and views, nestled on a hillside. Picture the deck of this house, and a deckchair in the sun. Intrigued?

This is Ashenden’s at Penneshaw.

Lazy mornings on the deck. Swimming in the summer sun. Watching storms roll over the ocean. Sharing local food and wine with family and friends. Family holidays that start a tradition; ‘Remember when…’ Falling asleep to the sound of the sea.

Ashenden’s at Penneshaw is the ideal beach-front getaway for your next family holiday or time away with friends. Set on the eastern side of Penneshaw township, Kangaroo Island, on a rocky shore, it is a short walk to a family-friendly beach.

Local attractions such as wineries, farmers markets and wildlife parks are close by for those wishing to explore, or the expansive deck offers the perfect location for eating, reading, entertaining and relaxing.

Kangaroo Island is known for its local produce and fine wines.  For those of us who prefer to eat and drink our way to relaxation, Ashendens at Penneshaw is the perfect base.  After a day of wine tasting and delicious gourmet food, you can return to your home away from home and its fully equipped kitchen to …..well… eat a little more!

The ocean views are completely unrestricted – you can spot the ferry and watch for the pod of dolphins that frequently patrol the cove. You might even spot a friendly seal! By night, creep quietly and watch closely for the penguins that make their home on the shore.
